Sarah's Paws For a Cause

Early one morning when the staff at the Orrville Veterinary Clinic was opening up for the day, a box was found by the side door. In that box was a little black and white cat named Sarah. Sarah came with a note from her owner saying that they could no longer care for her and a plea to find her a new home. The doctors and staff of OVC could not help but fall in love with Sarah and soon she became the clinic cat. Clients loved to see Sarah, who was usually found sleeping in her bed beside the receptionist’s desk. Sarah lived at the Orrville Veterinary Clinic for many years. As Sarah got older she developed some health problems and was given the care and medication that she needed.  Unfortunately, a time came that Sarah’s quality of life became poor and the doctors and staff had to make the heartbreaking decision to euthanize her. A picture of Sarah now sits in the spot where she would take her daily naps.

In honor of their beloved Sarah, the doctors and staff decided to establish Sarah’s “Paws for a Cause” Fund. This fund is intended to help defray the cost of treatment for certain cases presented at the Orrville Veterinary Clinic. Sympathy cards were designed to send to clients in memory of their special friends that have passed away. For each card that is sent the Orrville Veterinary Clinic makes a donation to the Sarah’s “Paws for a Cause” Fund. These donations are combined with donations from many generous clients of the Orrville Veterinary Clinic and The Orrville Pet Spa and Resort. Donations to Sarah’s “Paws for a Cause” fund allow the clinic to provide necessary care to animals whose owners have a lack of funding or for situations where there is no owner to finance treatment.

It is our desire not to force the euthanasia of any animal due to a lack of funding or for situations where there is no owner to finance treatment. This account will allow us to provide necessary care to these animals. The Doctors and staff of Orrville Veterinary Clinic will determine the amount and use of funds available for each case.

Monetary gifts will be accepted to help finance this effort. These donations will be combined with contributions made by Orrville Veterinary Clinic in memory of special friends that have passed away.
